I was laid off 2 months ago and it's the best thing thats happened to me in a very long time. I'm now free to do "Delicious by Vanda" cakes & catering full time . I've been designing and drawing again which is really nourishing for the spirit. The artist is back!! I've also developed a new frosting recipe; one thats rich & tasty but not too sweet, and will withstand the heat and humidity of the city.

made an appearance last night at Russell G. Jone's Birthday party @ Naked Lunch in Tribecca. The buzz is that the cake not only looked great, but it tasted really good too! A cakes gotta be good, inside and out! Here's what some of the folks had to say:
Liza Colon-Zayas: "They were eerily life like."

From this day forth I concentrate on cooking and baking full time!
What an auspicious day! No more 9-5 working for someone else. And just look what I've created...

Alot of straight orders happening these days! Baby showers and children's birthdays are big right now and we love it!

WOW! February and March were such busy months! Thank goodness for lovers, babies and valentines....lots of cakes and catering! That always makes me happy!

Cupcakes..Who Knew!
I have always turned down orders for cupcakes. Seemed like a lot of work for such a little bitty thing. Boy was I wrong! So was it my ego, my arrogance or my ignorance that had me working in the dark ages? I learned that others have been struggling with slimey buttercream too...but the answers are at my fingertips. This is where I learn to accept, and embrace, my limitations and hence the limitations of others too. Cupcakes!!! Who knew!
